Intensity Infrastructure is led by a team of dedicated professionals with a proven track record of managing, constructing, and operating midstream businesses.

Joe Griffin
Chief Executive Officer

Co-founded Intensity Infrastructure Partners in 2023 as its Chief Executive Officer.  Prior to Intensity Infrastructure Partners, Mr. Griffin was the Chief Executive Officer at Sendero Midstream Partners beginning in June 2021 until its sale to Crestwood Equity Partners LP in July 2022. Mr. Griffin co-founded Intensity Midstream as its CEO in 2015, which sold its operating entity, Woodford Express, to Energy Transfer LP in September 2022. Mr. Griffin has more than 38 years of experience in the midstream natural gas industry.

Prior to Intensity, Mr. Griffin was Chief Executive Officer, President and a director of Hiland Partners, LP (owned by Harold Hamm) from June 2007 until Hiland’s acquisition by Kinder Morgan, Inc. in February 2015. From 2004 to June 2007, Mr. Griffin served as executive vice president over multiple facets of the business of Lumen Midstream Company, a subsidiary of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, in Tulsa, OK. In 1989, Mr. Griffin co-founded Lumen Midstream, held various senior level management positions and served as a director until Lumen was sold in 2004 to the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.

Mr. Griffin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. In addition, Mr. Griffin is an active volunteer for non-profit organizations in the Tulsa community, including Grand Mental Health and San Miguel Middle School. He also serves on Special Committees of Bishop Kelley High School and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Derek Gipson
President & Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Gipson Co-founded Intensity Infrastructure Partners in 2023 as its President & Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to Intensity Infrastructure Partners, Mr. Gipson was the President & CFO at Sendero Midstream Partners beginning in June 2021 until its sale to Crestwood Equity Partners LP in July 2022. Mr. Gipson co-founded Intensity Midstream as its Chief Financial Officer in 2015, which sold its operating entity, Woodford Express, to Energy Transfer LP in September 2022.

Prior to Intensity, Mr. Gipson served as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President - Finance, Secretary, and a director of the general partner of Hiland Partners, LP (owned by Harold Hamm) from September 2011 until Hiland’s acquisition by Kinder Morgan, Inc. in February 2015. Mr. Gipson was appointed Vice President - Business Development and Corporate Planning for Hiland Partners, LP in January 2010. Prior to Hiland, Mr. Gipson worked with Wachovia Securities where he was a member of its Energy & Power Investment Banking Group. Mr. Gipson joined Wachovia in October 2007 through its acquisition of A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., where Mr. Gipson was a member of the A.G. Edwards Energy Investment Banking Group. Prior to joining A.G. Edwards in December 2003, Mr. Gipson was an Audit Associate with Deloitte & Touche LLP in its St. Louis, Missouri office where he earned a CPA certificate.

Mr. Gipson also served on the Board of Directors and was Chairman of the Audit Committee of FTS International, Inc., a publicly-traded oil and gas well completion company, from November 2020 until its acquisition by ProFrac Holdings, LLC in March 2022.

Mr. Gipson graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance.

Mike Higgins
Senior Vice President – Operations and Pipeline Construction

Mike Higgins joined Intensity Infrastructure Partners in 2023, as its Senior Vice President of Operations & Pipeline Construction. Prior to joining Intensity, Mr. Higgins was with Sendero Midstream Partners as its Senior Vice President of Operations and Pipeline Construction, beginning in 2021, until Sendero was acquired by Crestwood Equity Partners LP in July 2022. Prior to Sendero, Mr. Higgins joined Intensity Midstream as its Senior Vice President of Operations and Pipeline Construction in 2016. Mr. Higgins’ industry experience involves managing the safe and efficient construction and operation of significant midstream compression, pipeline, treating, fractionation, terminal, and processing facilities across the Powder River, Bakken, Arkoma, Anadarko, and Permian basins. Mr. Higgins has more than 28 years of experience in the midstream natural gas industry.

Prior to Intensity Midstream, Mr. Higgins served as Vice President of Operations and Midstream Construction at Hiland Partners, LP until is acquisition by Kinder Morgan in 2015. He joined Hiland as Manager of Technical Services in 2006. Mr. Higgins was promoted at Hiland to Manager of Operations Southern Region in 2007 and to Director of Operations and Midstream Construction in September 2012. Prior to joining Hiland, Mr. Higgins served as Area Superintendent – Western Oklahoma & Texas Panhandle Field Assets for Chesapeake Energy from 2005 until 2006. Mr. Higgins also served as Owner/Operator of Frontier Field Services from 2001 until 2005. He also held various Project Manager and Field Operator positions at CMS Field Services from 1997 until 2001.

Mr. Higgins holds an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences from Independence Community College.

Matthew Griffin
Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer

Matthew Griffin joined Intensity Infrastructure Partners in 2023, as its Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. Mr. Griffin has over 15 years of experience in the midstream energy sector with a diverse background in business development, product marketing, engineering, and system operations spanning multiple basins.

Prior to Intensity Infrastructure Partners, Mr. Griffin served as the Chief Midstream Services Officer at Sendero Midstream Partners beginning in June 2021 until its sale to Crestwood Equity Partners LP in July 2022. Prior to Sendero, Mr. Griffin served as the Sr. Vice President of Midcontinent Business Development for Intensity Midstream. At Intensity Midstream Mr. Griffin led the commercial strategy and greenfield expansion of a natural gas gathering and processing system in the Midcontinent which sold its operating entity, Woodford Express, to Energy Transfer LP in September 2022. Prior to Intensity Midstream, Mr. Griffin served in various commercial, business development, and engineering roles at Xplorer Midstream, Access Midstream, Chesapeake Midstream, and ONEOK.

Mr. Griffin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Griffin is actively involved in his community volunteering for local non-profit organizations and serving on youth athletic and church boards.

Matt Briscoe
Senior Vice President – Engineering

Matt Briscoe joined Intensity Infrastructure Partners in 2023, as its Senior Vice President of Engineering. Prior to joining Intensity, Mr. Briscoe was with Sendero Midstream Partners as its Senior Vice President of Engineering, beginning in 2021, until Sendero was acquired by Crestwood Equity Partners LP in July 2022. Prior to Sendero, Mr. Briscoe joined Intensity Midstream as its Vice President of Engineering in 2015. Mr. Briscoe’s industry experience involves executing crude oil pipeline, cryogenic gas processing, compression, refrigeration, treating, fractionation, terminals and other midstream projects across the Williston, Permian, Delaware, Anadarko, and Arkoma basins. Mr. Briscoe has more than 26 years of experience in the midstream natural gas industry.

Prior to Intensity, Mr. Briscoe served as Vice President of Engineering at Hiland Partners, LP until its acquisition by Kinder Morgan in 2015. He joined Hiland as Director of Engineering in 2008. Mr. Briscoe was promoted at Hiland Vice President of Engineering in 2012. Prior to joining Hiland, Mr. Briscoe served as Director of Engineering and Engineering Manager for Frontier Field Services in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 2005 to 2008. Prior to joining Frontier Field Services, Mr. Briscoe was a Senior Project Manager, System Coordinator, and Gas Supply Project Engineer for OG&E/Enogex from 2001-2005. He also held positions with Bateman/Merrick Engineering, and Western Gas Resources from 1997 until 2001.

Mr. Briscoe holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Mr. Briscoe served as the President of Habitat for Humanity in Enid, Oklahoma for four years from 2011 until 2015 and is an active supporter of Eagle Point Christian Academy.

Jeremy Spalvieri
Vice President — Environmental, Health and Safety

Jeremy Spalvieri joined Intensity in 2023, and is the Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety. Mr. Spalvieri’s responsibilities include corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and compliance with federal and state environmental, safety, process safety and pipeline safety regulations.

Prior to joining Intensity, Mr. Spalvieri was the Vice President of EHS at Sendero Midstream until Sendero was acquired by Crestwood Equity Partners LP in July 2022. Prior to Sendero, Mr. Spalvieri was the Vice President of EHS for Intensity Midstream and worked closely with operations, engineering and construction on the Woodford Express system in Oklahoma. Before coming to private equity, Mr. Spalvieri was the Corporate Safety Manager for The Williams Companies, Inc. following Williams’ merger with Access Midstream. At Williams, Access Midstream and Chesapeake Midstream, Mr. Spalvieri led several corporate EHS departments and EHS integration initiatives. Prior to joining Chesapeake Midstream in 2010, Mr. Spalvieri spent two years in Chesapeake Energy’s corporate EHS department. Mr. Spalvieri’s career began in 2005 at the Oklahoma Department of Labor where he spent three years in the OSHA Consultation Division as a Safety Consultant specializing in oil & gas upstream and midstream compliance.

Mr. Spalvieri holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Occupational Safety and Health from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He enjoys coaching youth sports, golf, fishing and traveling with his wife and three children. Mr. Spalvieri volunteers at Infant Crisis Services in Oklahoma City, is a Red Cross certified disaster assessment volunteer and has served in the local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
